This is a framed, lighted Christmas Tree I made many years ago.  When I posted it recentlyon Facebook there was interest in making this a group activity for when the clubhouse re-opens.  A broadcast email will be sent when we know when a date is set.

Anyone who would like to make one should start collecting their materials now, especially rounding up all the jewelry pieces.  You will need:

  • A frame - either a new one or a garage sale find
  • Costume jewelry - it's nice to include sentimental pieces. My tree top is a large 5-sided broach of my mother's.  The tree trunk is a pendant with my monogram.  You get the idea.
  • A set of lights - about 20 bulbs, any color you choose
  • A piece of plywood to fit inside the frame
  • Fabric to wrap the plywood - I used black velour
  • Small faceted beads to outline the tree
  • A D-ring mounting kit
