*** UPDATE 5/18/20 ***

Pools in PA may not open until ‘at least’ green phase of the Governors plan.  There often is grey area in a situation as fluid as this Pandemic has been BUT in these circumstances the orders are clear. We are not sure if we can open in Green, but we cannot open in Yellow phase.

The board and management do not hold the expertise nor power to change this decision, so we must follow state and local guidelines and cannot deviate from them.  The state provides permits for pools, including yours.  You are exempt from Public Pool rules such as lifeguards and testing every three hours, but all Condo and HOA pools are governed under the safety section of the code, including items such as testing weekly for bacteria, testing twice per day for chemical levels, safety devices, CPO etc…. So, although the pool is given liberties that public pools are not, the pool does still fall under Dept. of Health and state control.  Our hands are tied on this decision and changes in position cannot be afforded by the Association.  We understand this is not the news you wanted to received, it definitely is not the news we were hoping for, but we have our answers.

The pool will need to be operationally opened and run (not heated) to keep the mechanics and liner in the best working order, so we do not anticipate a lot of savings from this, however we will keep monitoring this situation and keep owners updated with any news we receive.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, weekly activities such as excercise class and game night are suspended until it is safe to resume.  No community parties are being planned in the meantime.  Stay home and stay safe!!!
